Please answer honestly. You may need your dance to chime in! I did this for fun ONLY. I came 1-2 times per week, had fun and socialized with dance friends. I was partially-committed to Volume. Other extracurricular activities interfered with my attendance. I danced as much as I could at Volume. I had extra curricular activities, but they did not affect my attendance. Dancing at Volume was the only thing I did last season. The New Season and Your Dancer's Commitment Level * As we move into the 2025-2026 season, how many hours per week can your child commit to dance at Volume with minimal tardies and absences? Please answer honestly. 1-3 hours per week 4-6 hours per week 6 or more hours per week Money Matters: Competitions * How many competitions would you like to attend this season? Before answering, please do the math. You will be asked to pay $70-$80 per dance style per competition. For example, if Mary Jane would like to participate in 3 group dances and attend 4 competitions, the math is as follows:. We will go high. 3 dances x $80 per dance=$240 AND $240 x 4 competitions = $960.00. Costumes will cost $100 per dance. $100 X4=$400.00 So you will be charged $1,360.00 for registration fees and costumes. 2 or 3 competitions 3 or 4 competitions 4 or 5 competitions Money Matters: Group Routines * How many GROUP dances would your child like to participate in next season? Group dances are dances that are 4 people or more. This does not include solos, duets, or trios. Once again, please do the math before choosing. 2 group dances of 4 or more people 3 group dancers of 4 or more people 4 group dancers of 4 or more people 5 group dancers of 4 or more people 6 group dances of 4 or more people Black Out Weeks and Weekends * As a member of the competition team, you will not be able to miss certain weeks and weekends in the season. (Please check the list of BLACKOUT weeks or weekends in the parent packet). Mandatory will mean mandatory. Is that something you and your family are willing to commit to? Yes No Money Matters: Specialties * Specialities will be chosen based on audition performance this season. A specialty dance is a solo (1 person), a duet (two dancers), or a trio (three dancers). This differs from a group dance (4 or more dancers). Would your child like to participate in a specialty dance? Please do the math before answering. You will more than likely spend between $300-$600 on each specialty. This includes choreography fees, competition registration fees, cleaning lessons, costume fees, and maintenance of the routine. Reminder: Specialty dances are NOT group dances. Group dances consist of 4 or more dancers. Specialties are solos, duets, and trios. (This season, 3 specialties will be the maximum for each child). Specialty Costuming * It's time to make a budget for specialty costuming. How much money would you like to spend PER specialty costume. We are not interested in doing a specialty costume. Clearance Costumes: $70-$100 per costumes Sequins and Stones: $75-$125 Bell and Whistles $125-$175 Custom Made Costumes $200 plus Village Training * It does take a village!! So we will begin with the village. Parents will be required to attend parent training classes and a parent or family member must attend each night. For example, day 1 will be the dancer’s mother or mother figure, day 2 will be the dancer’s father or a father figure, day 3 will be a dancer’s grandparent or close friend, day 4 will be the dancer’s mother. Note: Another dance parent will not be able to “sit in” for a child. The training and certification will cost $40 and make the family eligible for tuition breaks. This is something that you will have to commit to. By choosing yes, you acknowledge that this is mandatory.
