July Classes at VPC

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Contemporary Ballet is a fusion of classical ballet and contemporary dance. Dancers build on the strong technical foundation of ballet while exploring greater freedom of movement, expression, and artistry. Although the style maintains ballet’s precise technique, beautiful leg lines, and pointe work when appropriate, it allows for more fluid use of the torso, arms, and space, creating movement that is both technically refined and emotionally expressive.

Strengthening for Turns/Jumps: This class will help dancers strengthen and condition the muscles needed to achieve higher jumps and leaps with greater control and power as well as build the strength and technique required for more controlled turns, while also helping dancers increase the number of rotations.

Kinetoflex: Kinetoflex is a specialized dance strength and conditioning program, often branded as the "Ultimate Flexibility Bundle" and other skill-based courses. It focuses on improving dancers' technique through science-backed training for flexibility, turn-out, pirouettes, and strength, targeting improved mobility and injury prevention. This is an ages all levels class and designed for those who want to attain splits and bridges. Need 2 blocks and a theraband

Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT): Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) is a specialized training system designed by Marie Walton-Mahon to enhance dancers' technique by focusing on core strength, muscle memory, and alignment using stability balls, fusion balls, and resistance bands. It aids in injury prevention and improves stability and weight placement for dancers, skaters, and athletes. PBT is divided into 3 levels:

Sub Junior: a specialized,, low-impact program designed for young dancers (typically ages 6–10) to develop core stability, muscle memory, and safe alignment.

Junior: Progressing Ballet Technique (PBT) Junior programs focus on developing muscle memory, core stability, and proper alignment for young dancers

Advanced: focuses on enhancing dancer performance through high-level neuromuscular training, deep core strength, and precise alignment. It includes challenging exercises like resistance band work, advanced core stability, and complex weight placement, designed to build endurance for senior and professional dancers.
