Community Service Committee

Interested: Daltrina Davie, Shondria Seaton, Melanie Davis, Nicole Harper, Latoya Adams, Monet Bowling, Crystal Lee, Geneeka Brown, Kenyata Porter, Nicole Walker, Michelle Wright

The Community Service Committee will help Volume give back to the community and teach our dancers the importance of service and kindness. This committee will:

• Plan and coordinate two community service activities during the season: 1 before Winter Drop and one during Spring Remix.

• Look for opportunities that are age-appropriate and allow as many Volume dancers as possible to participate.

• Communicate the details and needs of each activity to Volume leadership before information is shared with families.

• Whenever possible, choose projects that focus more on service and participation than requiring families to spend additional money.

Big Sis/Lil Sis Committee

Interested: Daltrina Davie, Melanie Davis, Mari Swayne,  Latoya Adams, Charese Parker, Crystal Lee, Geneeka Brown, Ashley Blanche, Nicole Walker, Kristin Raimondo, Brittany Humphries, Michelle Wright

The Big Sis/Lil Sis Committee will help build relationships between our older and younger dancers and create a stronger sense of family within Volume. This committee will:

• Help coordinate the Big Sis/Lil Sis program throughout the season.

• Plan four Big Sis/Lil Sis exchanges or activities during the year.

• All exchanges should be non-monetary. Ideas may include handwritten notes, decorated posters, encouragement cards, homemade items, drawings, or other creative gestures.

• Create activities that encourage dancers to support, celebrate, and get to know one another.

• Provide families with advance notice of each planned activity.

• The rule this season is dancers may not give their sister anything that costs money. So NO GIFTS.

New Family Greeting Committee

Interested: Daltrina Davie, Melanie Davis, TaLicia Williams, Asia Carter,  Crystal Lee, Ashley Blanche, Gabriella Wright

The New Family Greeting Committee will make sure families joining Volume feel welcomed and included from the beginning. This committee will:

• Personally greet and welcome new families to the Volume community.

• Present each new family with a special Volume welcome letter and welcome gift provided by Volume Performance Center.

• Help introduce new families to other parents and dancers when appropriate.

• Serve as a friendly connection for new families as they become familiar with the studio and competition-team environment.

Memory & Photo Committee

Interested: Daltrina Davie, Melanie Davis, TaLicia Williams, Tavonna Askew, Geneeka Brown, Ashley Blanche

The Memory & Photo Committee will help document Season 18 so that our dancers and families have memories to look back on for years to come. This committee will:

• Take a photo of all Volume company dancers, not just your child.

• Develop a specific photo/video checklist for the season so important moments are not missed.

• Coordinate coverage of designated studio events, performances, competitions, team activities, special events, and behind-the-scenes moments.

• Capture both posed photos and candid moments throughout the season.

• Organize photos and videos so they can easily be used for end-of-season memories, social media, newsletters, and other Volume projects.

• Work to make sure all dancers and teams are represented, rather than repeatedly photographing the same dancers.

Team Mom 

The Team Mom serves as a positive, organized, and supportive connection for their assigned team. Their role is to help dancers and families stay connected, prepared, and encouraged throughout the season while supporting the expectations and culture of Volume Performance Center.

Team Mom responsibilities include:

• The team mom must be ALWAYS ON TIME and DRAMA FREE!

• Help welcome families and create a positive sense of community within the team.

• Assist with communicating reminders about important dates, events, performances, competitions, and team activities. Official studio information will always come from Volume first.

• Help make sure families know where to find important information rather than creating or changing studio instructions.

• Help coordinate team-building activities, celebrations, and other approved activities throughout the season.

• Assist with organizing the team during competitions, performances, and special events when requested.

• Help ensure dancers are accounted for and prepared when the team is gathering for awards, performances, photos, etc.

• Encourage good sportsmanship, positivity, teamwork, and support for all Volume dancers and teams.

• Help identify when a new family may need additional assistance getting acclimated to the team.

• Work with other parent committees when team participation is needed for community service, Big Sis/Lil Sis activities, photos, or special events.

• Communicate questions or concerns that require studio involvement directly to Volume leadership.

The Team Mom is not responsible for making decisions regarding choreography, casting, team placement, costumes, competition entries, schedules, tuition, discipline, or other studio policies. Parent concerns regarding these areas should always be directed to Volume leadership.

Most importantly, our Team Moms should help set the tone for our parent community by being welcoming, encouraging, organized, discreet, and supportive of every dancer.

Our studio has a relationship with Butler University. If your child would like to take ballet classes, please email the studio. Before committing, please be sure to check your schedule and align it with Butler’s schedule.

Monday classes are for older students and meetings from 5:30-6:45 pm.

Friday classes are for younger students and meets from 5:15-6:30 pm.

Our first week of classes begins the week of September 7th, and we will work on the material needed for the performance during class. Please not come to the studio next week expecting classes to begin :)

Pants: Black jazz pants
Shoes: Tennis shoes that MAY get dirty. The baseball field has a different surface than a dance floor, so please plan accordingly.
Make-Up: Read lipstick only. Any make-up...they will sweat off!

Who performs: All company members will be performing at the Indianapolis Indians game on Sunday, September 13th, 2026 at Victory Field. Time is TBA.

Tickets: All families must purchase one ticket for their child via the events page. Other tickets can be purchased for yourself and family members.

All dancers ages 16+ will report to the Advanced Room for their audition class. Pre-Professional dancers will report to the Pre-Professional Room when applicable. A dancer’s age and division will be determined by their age on the first day of the event.
